Job overview

At the core of our business is the preparation and ongoing maintenance of detailed critical path schedules using project management software, and helping our clients achieve their construction planning goals is central to this role. You will work with a diverse range of clients, from Tier 1 contractors to small start-ups, alongside a team of experts, so an appreciation for consultancy-based work is important. You will also be expected to identify other service needs our clients may have and help grow cross-selling opportunities.

Responsibilities and duties

• Create professional schedules and programmes using sound building logic, with practical experience in MS Project, Powerproject, Primavera and Synchro.
• Apply your understanding of Australian building work practices and site conditions to client programmes.
• Demonstrate exceptional time management, particularly when managing multiple stakeholders.
• Work well in a team, accepting and delegating work as required, which is critical in a consulting environment.
• Visit building sites regularly for status reporting.
• Understand and comply with the Solid Support Systems (SSS), and help maintain and improve processes to meet the required standard.
• Keep accurate timesheet and expense records each week.
• Attend local networking, industry and university events to build your professional network and create opportunities across the full Solid Support service range.

Additional responsibilities

• Develop a good understanding of all Solid Support products and services, with a view to cross-selling within existing engagements.
• Discover and develop new clients and fields of work using Solid Support’s cross-selling approach.
• Attend internal training as directed.
• Maintain an active LinkedIn presence to represent Solid Support, build networks and support our brand.

Key performance indicators

• Take part in Solid Support’s Performance and Development program to align your learning and career goals with the broader business strategy.
• Contribute to revenue targets in line with the business and product goals set by your State Manager.
• Deliver on agreed billable hours targets.
• Meet customer satisfaction targets.
• Comply with Solid Support Systems processes and procedures.

Knowledge and skills

• Advanced knowledge of project management software and programming logic, with extensive practical experience in MS Project, Powerproject and Primavera.
• Advanced knowledge of Australian building work practices and site procedures.

Qualifications and requirements

• Degree or diploma in Building Science, Construction Project Management or Engineering.
• More than three years’ experience on Australian commercial or residential projects, or in a similar role.
• Consulting experience in a time-billing role is desirable.
• Full working rights in Australia (required).
